Overview

Entebbe Tour exposes you to the once the colonial capital of Uganda, is the first town that welcomes any visitor to Uganda from the Airport. Being a quiet town Cooled by breezes from Lake Victoria, beach palm trees, a beautiful botanical garden, good hotels that have beautiful views of the lake and white sand beaches, Uganda Wildlife Preserve-The Zoo, Entebbe is a tour destination for both Ugandans and international visitors.

Early in the morning after breakfast your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and drive to Entebbe. Your first stop shall be the Entebbe Botanical Gardens located on the shores of Lake Victoria. A sanctuary for many primates(monkeys), most fantastic tropical plants one can find, walk on the white sand beach.

Having a variety of primates such as Baboons and monkeys, close to 20 bird species and butterflies, the sight of local fishermen throwing their nets on canoes, as well as the beautiful lake shore scenery you are guaranteed to have a peaceful morning in a relaxing place blown by the cool lake breeze.

Your lunch shall be served along the sandy beach under shade provided by the large palm trees under which you can order local Uganda or intercontinental dishes- grilled tilapia whole, pizza, some Indian dishes etc, all served with a refreshing cool drink. The grilled Uganda tilapia is a visitor`s favorite, try it!!

After lunch you shall drive to the Uganda Wildlife Preserve- The Zoo where you will see most of the animal and bird species resident in Uganda gazeted in a semi natural habitat. These include but a few; Lion, Buffalo, Antelopes, Hippos, Snakes, Crocodile plus very many bird species. Taking photographs of your interest will be after paying for your camera entry and you shall walk along the various paths ending at beach side restaurants for refreshments before proceeding to our last destination.

Drive to Imperial Resort Beach Entebbe- the best white sand beach in Uganda located on the shores of Lake Victoria adjacent to a beautiful five star hotel. You will walk the clean in water/sand along the best sand in Uganda as well la on the sand to sun bath. A tour in the caves along this beach some of which have been made into creative bars is rewarding due to their unique features, as this is done you will have lots of water bird some of which are scavengers to see as you enjoy the cool lake Victoria breeze.

You will have a lake swim if desired along with native Ugandans or dive into the hotel`s Olympic size swimming pool to step up your physical fitness after a busy day finalized with a dance to Ugandan local tunes plus international tunes to warm your body as say buy the beach if it’s a weekend. Please note that a motor boat cruise can be arranged for you if interested in having a cruise on Lake Victoria. This tour ends between 6:00-8:00 pm (local time) according to your will.

Itinerary

Go around Entebbe town with House of Uganda Safaris/ Driver guide. Learn about its history as the colonial capital of Uganda, with a population of approximately 90,500. In the local Luganda dialect, Entebbe means a “seat” named so because it was the place where a Baganda chief sat to adjudicate legal cases. Most popular of Entebbe’s residents include civil servants, Staff of international agencies like the UN, business men and peasants practicing mixed farming like fishing, animal husbandry and , small-scale industry.

THE BOTANICAL GARDENS .These gardens are habitants for many primates, bird’s tropical vegetation. Walk by the beach and enjoy the Lake Victoria Breeze. You may spot fishermen casting their nets on canoes. Take a lunch at a local Uganda or intercontinental restaurant, order for grilled tilapia to crown your experience.

MABAMBA WETLAND - BIRDING SANCTUARY.
Mabamba Wetland - Birding sanctuary. Designated as a Ramsar Site wetland of international importance in 2006, Mabamba Bay Wetland is globally recognized and protected under the Ramsar Convention. This Convention on wetlands signed in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971, is an intergovernmental treaty which provides the agenda for national action and global cooperation for the protection and wise use of wetlands and their possessions. Mabamba was recognized due to being home to rare and globally threatened bird species like the Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex), the Blue Swallow (Hirundo atrocaerulea) and Papyrus Yellow Warbler, the Sitatunga plus other birds of global preservation concern. To visit Mabamba, you are advised to start early before 0800. It is 50 kms away from Entebbe (less than one hour drive).The area marshy and bio-density especially birds .The Birding excursion is done on the canoes in bog channels. These hefty marshlands are home to an ecological unit of birds, animals, bugs, fish, that are not found elsewhere. Sighting the elusive shoebill stork while in dugout canoe, can take up to whole day. Please carry packed lunch and bottled mineral water to spend your day enjoying the experience.

THE WILDLIFE-CENTRE.
Drive to the Zoo where you will see animal and bird species habitants in this semi natural environment. They include: Crocodile, Lion, Buffalo, Giraffes, antelopes, Hippos, Snakes, and a variety of bird species. You can take photographs of your interest but have to pay for your camera at the entrance. Hike along various paths ending at beach side

Drive to Imperial Resort Beach for a walk and tour the caves along it that have been turned into creative bars due to their unique features. Relax to the Ugandan local and international tunes and enjoy a chilled drink as you wallow in the Victoria breeze. A motor boat cruise on Lake Victoria can be arranged on request.
